Bodysuit - Mr Price | Leather Jacket - Mr Price | High Waist Palazzo Pants - Mr Price | Ankle Boots - Mr Price

I can't give an accurate answer when I'm asked about which season I prefer. I mean I dislike the cold weather but I quite enjoy autumn/winter wear. I'm not much of a short dresses/shorts girl but I like sunny, warm beach type weather. I guess I like a bit of both.

Cape Town is getting rather cold and I'm certainly enjoying dressing up to its conditions, especially since I'm a Durban girl and we don't get to experience much of autumn/winter because it's relatively warm all year round there (however the climate seems to be changing quite significantly over the past few years).

Whilst exploring the beautiful and vibrant streets of  Cape Town I did so in budget friendly style (all items on this lookbook purchased from Mr Price). I absolutely love my ankle boots and leather jacket and I'm literally always wearing these items (if you follow me on any social network you'll know).
Ankle boots and leather jackets are trending this season and I had fun putting together this look with both items blending in effortlessly.

As I have mentioned in my previous post I'm changing things up my wardrobe and finding my style and color pallet and I think it's safe to say that dark colors suit me really well. I've always loved black but I've always seemed to dabble between black and bright colours and now I've found my true love.
I will be wearing other colors of course but during this transition you'll be seeing me in a lot of black,I mean a LOT so be prepared lol. I just love how it accommodates any colour and it's also quite versatile.

Let me know what you think of this look.

Current Products 2016

Hey guys,
I've been a bit MIA but my life has been crazy lately. Just to update you on what's been happening - so I started my professional full time job in January which required me to relocate so I had to leave my friends, familiar surroundings and photographer behind. My job also makes me travel quite a lot (I write this post all the way from the Eastern Cape),so you guys can imagine the rollercoaster ride I've been on but I'm not complaining because I prayed for this job.

Anyway moving on to the topic of today's post. Thought I'd share with you guys some products I'm currently using and do a little review on each of them.

Avon Ideal Flawless Pressed Powder (left) Avon Ideal Flawless Cream-to-powder Foundation (right)

Avon Ideal Flawless Cream-to-powder foundation
Purchased on promotion  at R119 regular price at R149.95
This foundation has a smooth silky texture. I bought this in Nutmeg shade which was a bit dark for my complexion but upon application it blended well and the difference in shade tone compared to my skin wasn't too noticeable. It's quite rich and thick and gives full coverage with just two coats. It comes with a sponge that helps with the application and to even out the foundation. This isn't my favorite product simply because I've got really oily skin and after wearing it for about 6 hours it leaves my face quite shiny and really oily. It also tends to melt a bit in my t-zone so if you have oily skin and you want to use this product I'd suggest you use a primer and apply a pressed powder to even things out and to achieve a matte look. The foundation didn't wear too long because of my oily skin I think I wore it for about 4 hours and then had to retouch.

Avon Ideal Flawless Pressed Powder
Purchased on Promotion for R99.95,regular price R119.95
The second time I wore the Ideal Flawless Cream-to-powder I used the pressed powder which I bought in the toffee shade. The powder certainly helped with the oiliness and melting of the foundation, I noticed that my skin was matte and it helped increase the longevity of the foundation. The  powder shade was also a bit dark for my skin tone(I can never win at choosing the correct shade for my skin tone -Help!!) but it blended well with the powder and didn't make me look too dark. I would recommend this powder to anyone especially if you have oily skin like myself.

Maybelline Baby Lips

 Maybelline Baby Lips
Purchased for R39.95
I absolutely love this product. It's smooth, moisturizing easy to apply and makes my lips feel great.I love how it doesn't create white residue on my lips if I've worn it for quite some time,it has this minty feeling and leaves my lips feeling somewhat 'refreshed'. I always find myself repurchasing this when I run out - it's that good.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Cream

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Cream
Purchased for R19.95
This is also another one of my absolute favorite products. In fact I love the entire Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula range. This is actually a travel size body cream but I use this as hand cream. The cream is rich, thick and leaves my hands nourished for a long time. Have I mentioned how amazing it smells? I've got relatively dark hands and knuckles and since I've used this cream on my hands I've noticed a slight lightening difference on them. This right here is everything and more!!

Salon Pro Kate in New Romantic (left) Tip Top Nailchic (middle) Essence Colour & Go (right)

Salon Pro Kate in New Romantic (got as a gift)
Tip Top Nailchic R39.99
Essence Colour & Go R19.95
If you know me well you'll know how I absolutely love nail polish and I have a mini collection. I'm currently in love with these colours which is quite weird because it's summer and most people tend to go for the more brighter colours. The Salon Pro and Tip Top last slightly longer than the Essence colour & go but it's nothing a good top coat can't fix.

Let me know what you thought of this post and if you'd like to see more of these, whilst you're at it do share some of the products you're currently using.

Laters.

Hey guys so I wasn't planning on posting until Sunday but something really amazing happened to me today and I just wanted to share with you.

So I decided to take a break from studying by taking a walk to Checkers (which is roughly  40-45 minutes from my place) to get a few stuff that I needed. A 'few things' turned into three very heavy grocery filled packets. There I was walking back with heavy packets, sweating like I was running a marathon and feeling my hands begin to swell from the pressure the packets were exerting on them. I reached a robot and as I was waiting to cross I noticed a girl standing there waiting as if she's also waiting to cross to my side of the road. The robot turned green and as I got to the other side the girl looked  at me with a bright smile and said ,'Yazi (You know) I was waiting for you, where are you going? Are you far from home?'. I looked at her with a very puzzled face and told her that I'm not too far from home, she then went on to offer to help carry one of my packets. 'Wait what? People still do that? I mean you don't even know me and here you are voluntarily offering to help',I thought to myself. I mean c'mon you can't really blame me for thinking that,I hadn't experienced an act of kindness from a complete stranger in years. So there I was walking with this sweet girl having a chilled conversation about the usual things  (which school we each go to,what courses are we doing, are we originally from Durban etc etc). Whilst we're conversing she tells me a very interesting thing about herself that I don't think she goes around telling people, let alone strangers. She tells me that she was at Rhodes University studying Law for 2years but she just wasnt enjoying it so she decided to drop out and come back home where she's currently at a flight school pursuing her true passion and dream. She tells me all this with a bright cheery smile and I can tell that she's definitely happy about her decision and she doesn't regret any of it. Her parents weren't too supportive at first though, but they've accepted it and are really supportive now she goes on to tell me. She tells me that she can't take me too far as my route isn't where she was headed, before we depart I realise that I hadn't even gotten her name,so I say 'Thank you so much for all the help, may God bless you and by the way my name is Miranda'. She looks at me and starts laughing before replying 'OMW (Oh my word) sorry,my name is Siya and it's honestly a pleasure. You're going to be okay from here?'. I look around and realise that I'm just about 5 minutes away from my place,so I assure her that she's been a great help and that I'll be fine and we say our final goodbyes.

As I was walking the rest of the way home alone God helps me realise a few things and that meeting Siya wasn't just a coincidence but it was purpose filled. I realise that doing what you love is really important no matter what other people may think. It's really no use studying a degree for 3-4years without truly enjoying it and sticking it through because it would  make your family proud and well it will give you the big bucks but you'll spend the rest of your life hating waking up in the morning to go to work. I know that this is a rather sensitive subject because we all need money to survive and a good pay check at the end of the month to help meet our needs, but honestly your happiness is very important. I know of people who have resigned and quit their jobs because they weren't happy, and some were really earning the big bucks,so you see money is important but not as much as your happiness and wellbeing but that's a topic for another day.

What I really want to highlight is the act of Ubuntu Siya showed,it reminded me that all is not lost in our generation. That there are people who have compassion out there. It also left me feeling a bit challenged because I'm not always jumping up at the opportunity to help a stranger because well you just don't know who to trust in this world anymore. Even the most innocent looking people can be quite dodgy, and having been a victim of crime once (I've been mugged and stabbed before) I tend to be overly cautious when it comes to interactions with strangers. That being said I won't let my bad experience stand in the way of helping out someone who's in need, that I know I can help in one way or the other. (I am however part of a community outreach committee on campus but I feel that's slightly different,as the people we help are strangers but atleast to a certain extent can be trusted because they belong to an orphanage,an old age home,a disabled persons rehabilitation home etc.,what I'm talking about here is a spontaneous act of kindness to an absolute stranger)

How comfortable are you in helping strangers? Do you still believe in 'Ubuntu'? I'd like to hear from you so don't be afraid to comment below or we can have this conversation on my Facebook page. Whichever suits you :)

Look forward to hearing from you,but for now imma bounce!
